Critical thinking is a good way to really make a strong attempt at understanding. Contrary to what the washtowel society teaches people, the Bible wants people to prove truth to themselves. I have always been a person that expects to dig for truth. I never liked the way the washtowel was serving up their brand of truth with no real work on my part. Keep up your studies and keep asking questions.

Taken Critical Thinking at College/Uni? I'd like to know your thoughts.
by Manny Trillo inthis semester i am taking critical thinking/informal logic at a local university, and finding it very helpful.
would anybody else like to offer some thoughts on their own experience with this?
i'd be very grateful.. over the last 10 years my secular studies have given me a well rounded consciousness of general knowledge.

Living With Limitations
by choosing life injust curious how some have handled living with disabilities.
what do you do when you can no longer do what you want?
how do you learn to focus on the things you have left and not what you must leave behind?.

don't delude yourself. Some disabilities are able to be dealt with and overcome to a degree to say the least, however some are not. So, go into any situation knowing there is a problem, but you are going to go after it anyway. I live my life sick. I worked myself to death in physically demanding jobs and it got me nowhere. My body is broke-down and because I believed the washtowel's lies about college I have no savings nor a career to depend on. Now as sick as I am I am wrapping up a degree in Information Technology and will be able to get a job indoors where I don't have to climb poles to earn a buck.
Take some aptitude tests and see where your gifts lie. Then set some goals that you can attain. Find a way to reach those goals and stick with it. Us disabled people may be down but we are not out! Go for it!

I hate people that make me feel inferior!
by Princess Daisy Boo ini am generally a confident, happy woman.
i have good friends and family who laugh at my jokes, value my opinions and generally like me... and then once in a while, i come into contact with a person who makes me feel like a nobody.
an overweight, unsuccessful, unintelligent nobody.

People like that are dumbells. Ignore them. Know why? Because in your words, they are not always in your life! I know several jw's like that besides the other people I know and am related to that go around making fun of everyone, or putting them down. What I have learned about them is that they try to make themselves look like a somebody by putting others down. They are the ones with a problem. They are insecure and have a HUGE inferiority complex that they are trying to ignore....So screw them!

The floodgates have opened
by B_Deserter ini posted elsewhere that i decided to contact a non-witness friend i cut ties with because she spoke ill of the society.
well, through her i was contacted by another former jw friend of mine.
turns out, we both thought we hated the other person, but turns out it wasn't true on either side.

Tired of the Hypocrisy
I can still remember watching "Brother k." parked across the street from the Pussycat theatre on Central ave. in Albuquerque. He would sit there fo hours and make note of the comings and goings. Then when someone's "Study" went in he swept down on the study conductor....So much time on his hands.....What a loser.

Tired of the Hypocrisy
My wife's step mom is a regular pioneer and she is the biggest hypocritical bitch I ever knew personally. I think they only put in like 60 hours a month now and she is treated like some kind of a saint. If she says it it is gospel. It must be true because she is a pioneer....It is disgusting how much attention is given to such undeserving people. It is like seeing Britney Spears on the news all day and night. Paraded around in everyone's face with no reason for it....

Drop Dead Gorgeous !
by Outaservice inback when i was attending kingdom halls, our circuit had a lot of 'drop dead gorgeous' women, many whom were married to the geekiest looking guys.
i always asked myself, "how did these 'dorks' do it"!
was this because selection was limited, or was this just a peculiarity in our area?

Have fun and much success....
